Our Young Family in America, record 84 Charles Edward Young page 88-89. Charles Edward Young born 1830, near Sandusky, Ohio died about 1906, at Sabetha, Kansas where he was buried. He was a Veterinarian. He enlisted July 30 1862, at Wilton, Illinois for service in the Civil War and was mustered-in, August 30 1862, at Joliet, Illinois, as a private in Company H, 100th Illinois Infantry, and was transferred to the Invalid Corps, September 1 1863. He moved from Wilton, Illinois to Sabetha, Kansas in 1876 (Military & Naval Department, Springfield, Illinois). Charles married three times, first, Mary Jane Drown, born March 8 1840, in Vermont, died July 11 1871, at Wilton Center, Will County, Illinois, age 31 yr. 4 mos. 23 days (Gravestone record). He married, second Martha Schoup, at Peotone, Illinois. There were no children by this marriage. He married third, Lilly Linch, a widow, at Sabetha, Kansas. There were five daughters by this marriage but no record of them has been found. Charles and Mary had six children, all of whom were raised by relatives after the death of their mother. (Mrs. Hazel Young Bell, New Cambria, Kansas).

ARY JANE YOUNG:
      Record 89 "Our Young Family in America," Mary Jane Young born, Feb 22 1826 in Adams county Ohio, died in 1909 at Chicago Ill. and was burried there. A certificate to teach in the Erie County Ohio public schools was granted to her in September 1843 and shetaught this year in the Sandusky schools. She married first at Sandusky in 1844, Franklin Potter who died 1850. She married in 1856 for her second husband Herman Marshall Loomis and they lived in Chicago until her death. Letters from Mrs. Loomis to her nephew Delevan Young and to her niece Mrs. Almond J. Young of Conway Kansas as late as 1907 furnished the writer with much material about the children and grandchildren of Morgan Young, JR. Mr. and Mrs Potter had two children. No children by the second marriage.
     
      i. Byron Young, "printer, age 18 years, birthplace, Sandusky
Ohio was enrolled July 09, 1861, at Ann Arbor, in Company
E., 1st Mich. Ingantry and was killed in action August 30
1862 at Bull Run" (War Department, Washington DC)

      Record 90 "Our Young Family in America," John Losey Young, born July 14 1828, Erie County Ohio, died and was buried at Cincinnati, Ohio. He married, Oct 11 1848, at Sandusky Ohio, Maria L. Francesco (Sandusky records). She died, October 28 1901, age 72 years and was buried in Oakland cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio (Gravestone record). One child, Merritt Young who married but had no children. He was for many years treasurer for Barnum and Bailey's Circus. On their annual visits to Sandusky the circus owners placed flowers on his grave.
