I am a descendant of Abraham Brubaker (1795-1854) and Elizabeth Myers (1797-1867. They were my great-great-grandparents. Abraham was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, on July 15, 1795, and died in Marion County, Illinois, on March 10, 1854. Elizabeth was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on September 25, 1797, and died in Marion County, Illinois, on February 3, 1857.
My paternal great-grandparents were Noah Brubaker (1824-1914)and Catherine Hite (1829-1910). Noah was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, on June 26, 1824, and died in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois, on July 14, 1914. Catherine was born on June 30, 1929,in Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, and died in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois, on July 10, 1910.
My paternal grandparents were Andrew Hite Brubaker (1874-1952) and Ellen White (1877-1943). Andrew was born on September 11, 1874, in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois, and died on June 2, 1952, in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois. Ellen was born on July 16, 1877, in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois, and died on December 13, 1943, in Stevenson Township.
My parents were Robert Andrew Brubaker (1909-1988)and Nellie Murphy (1910-1973). Robert was born on March 2, 1909, in Stevenson Township, Marion County, Illinois, and died in Toledo, Cumberland County, Illinois, on June 2, 1988. Nellie was born on February 12, 1910, in or near Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois, and died on January 25, 1973.
In July, 2000, I was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Brubaker Family Association that holds annual reunions in Salem, Marion County, Illinois.
