PEAVY, LAZARUS B. 1st Sgt, Co C, 7th Regiment, N.C. State Troops, C.S.A.
Born in Brunswick County where he resided as a laborer prior to enlisting in New Hanover County at age 21, June 24, 1861, for the war. Mustered in as Corporal and promoted to Sergeant in July-October 1862. Wounded in the left arm at Ox Hill Virginia, September 1, 1862. Rejoined the company in November-December, 1862 and was promoted to 1st Sergeant on September 15, 1863. Present or accounted for until admitted to hospital at Richmond, Virginia May 18 1864 with a gunshot wound of the right arm; however place and date wounded not reported. Rejoined the company in July-August, 1864 and present or accounted for through October 1864. Hospitalized at Greensboro in April 1865. (JWB/FR)
