Ancestors of Frank Nickolas Bryan

Generation No. 11

1024. Mathias Bryan, born 1625; died 1705 in North Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of 2048. John Bryan and 2049. Ann [Bryan]. He married 1025. Elizabeth Thompson Abt. 1648.

1025. Elizabeth Thompson, born 1635; died 5/6/1670 in Charles Cty, Maryland. She was the daughter of 2050. William Thompson.

Notes for Mathias Bryan:
Mathias Bryan was born about 1625 per court depositions giving his age as about 33 in 1659 and about 46 in 1671.

I believe Mathias Bryan married Elizabeth Thompson and had sons John and Thomas, and daughter Eleanor.

In the 1666-68 Charles County court proceedings is recorded Ellender OBryan the daughter of Mathias OBryan was borne the 5th day of November 1666.

1668-70 Court Proceedings record Eliza the wife of Mathias OBryan died May the 6 1670. This appears to have been Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of William.

William Thompson settled to estate of Robert Tutty in 1647, whose will made a bequest of clothes to Mathias Brian.

In 1648 Matthyas Bryant testified to having seen the Indian called Moyke kill a swine of Mr. Thompson.

In 1649 Mathias Brian is recorded as having bought a heifer from William Thompson

In 1650 Mathias Bryan was assigned 100 acres by rights of Robert Clark, and requested it to be near the land of William Thompson upon St Clement's Bay.

James Lindley gave his original land patent to Mathias OBrion in 1663 as witnessed by George Thompson. Mathias then sold the land, referred to as Dublin, to Richard Edelin in 1673.

Mathias Bryan was listed as among those for which Thomas Gerrard received 2100 acres of land for transporting to Maryland before 1640.

By default that makes Mathias, born about 1625, the son of John Bryan, transported to Maryland by Thomas Copley in 1634. This John Bryan was killed in Charles County 1638 by the fall of a tree. His estate was settled by Richard Garnett Sr. His widow was named Ann, and she was probably the daughter of Richard Garnett. Ann OBrian was still living in 1661.
