Will left second wife Sarah one third of his estate if she forgave him the twenty Pounds promised to her at his death. Another third of the estate went to his son Josias. The last third of his estate was apparently to be sold with 40 shillings of the receipts to go to his son CORNELIUS HULL and the remainder to be divided equally between his daughters, Mary, Martha, Elizabeth, and Naomi. His cousin/neice JANE PINKNEY got twenty shillings.

Arrived in 1630 aboard the ship "Mary and John" and joined by wife and newborn son within a year. Became a freeman 1n 1633 and was a representative from Dorchester from 1633 to 1636, when he joined with others to found Windsor, Ct. doing much of the original surveys of Windsor and neighboring Wethersfield. He was an associate of Roger Ludlow, deputy governor of Massachusetts in 1634-35, and in disfavor after that. They were granted an exclusive right to the beaver trade at Windsor. He was Deputy to the General Court of Mass. from 1637-1646. He followed Roger Ludlow to Fairfield, Ct, in 1647. In 1648 and 1649 he was a representative from Fairfield and in 1649 he was Ludlow's military assistant. From 1651-54 he was an assistant magistrate for the town of Fairfield and neiboring towns under which office he officiated over court affairs and married people. As such he officiated over the witch trial of goodwife Knapp, in which JOHN JONES and his wife SARAH were involved.

Made town Rater for the maintenance of fences and gates in Dorchester 11/16/1633.
One of 12 men chosen 6/27/1636 to administer the affairs of Dorchester.

Gave 40 acres of land 11/29/1653 to son Cornelius on account of his marriage to Rebecca Jones. (Fairfield land deeds)

Sold property in Windsor in 1637 to Governor John Haynes of Hartford, where he continued to live until he moved to Fairfield

Owned property in South Windsor borderd on the North by Thomas Buckland, South by William Phelps, and sold to John Drake Jr in 1660

      Arrived 10/3/1635 with first wife, Sarah, and family aboard the ship "Defense". He was among founders of Concord, Ma. and with Peter Bulkley officiated over the church there. In Sept, 1644 he was sent by Governor Winthrop to Fairfield, Ct. where he remained as minister for twenty years. His wife and a son Theophilus died probably in Concord and he married his second wife Susannah in Fairfield. He was involved in the witch trial of Goodwife Knapp over which GEORGE HULL officiated and REBECCA [JONES] HULL gave testimony. JOHN JONES walked her to her execution demanding her confession. She proclaimed her innocence and was hung.
Will settled debt to a Capt Cullick, gave fifty Pounds and a silver bowl to his wife, and provided his wife with the use of twelve acres of meadowland and an orchard in Fairfield until her death, upon which it was to be divided equally among his children, John, Eliphalet, Sarah Wilson, Ruth James, REBECCA HULL, and Elizabeth Hill. The remainder of his estate was divided among these same children with John getting his books by "The Fathers" the church.\

Will dated 9/23/1681 names sons EZEKIAL, Thomas, Ephraim, and Samuel, and daughters Sarah Shute and Elizabeth Allyn. Also remembered in the will was his maid Sarah Whitlock.
