Since around 2000, I started researching our family tree, using the Family Tree Maker program as my framework. After inputting information from living family members, I entered information from family papers written in the mid 1900's by two of my father's (Richard Scott Smith) aunts. From there I branched out using trees found on FTM discs, the familysearch.org, and World Family Tree websites. Much of this information has yet to be validly sourced and documented, but it has provided a framework upon which to do so. I have subscibed to the genealogy library as well as looked up information on heritage quest, both of which contain books containing information on ancestors now found on our tree. Using query lists on the Rootsweb website, I have also been in contact with other genealogists who have been kind enough to respond to my queries. Some of them are cousins I've never met, and others are just helpful strangers. I try to spend at least a few hours every month filling out and verifying as much of this information as possible to improve its accuracy. I welcome any information others may choose to share with me that support or conflict with what is on this tree.
