1. DAVID1 LEHR was born in Germany, and died in Liberty, Frederick County, Maryland. He married (1) UNKNOWN. She died Bef. 1720 in Holland or Germany. He married (2) WIDOW CENTINS. He married (3) ANNA MARIA.
Notes for DAVID LEHR:
"From the information that I have and I have it from several distant
cousins and close ones as well this is the way it goes. --
David number 1 came over ca. 1720 and settled in Maryland. the
spelling then was Lehr. (per another cousin, we are Dutch as Germany
wasn't even formed then). He had a son Heinrich Lehr (Henry Leer)
David married after moving here as his wife, Henry's mom, died before
they moved to this country. he didn't get along with this new family
and left. he moved to Virginia and either married there or later in
Kentucky -- still piecing the dates together. his wife's name is Anna
Maria per his will. There possibly could have been another family
per another cousin that I have found. as men did marry often in those
days. he possibly had another son named daniel. in 1785 he & the
family moved to Bourbon county around Stoner Creek.
As far as the book I mentioned "Lick Crick Beckoned" - You can get it from
the Mid Continent Library in Indepence MO]. I have yet to tie it to the Lear's in
that book but I am sure they are-- they came from Bourbon county and
settled in Palmyra, MO. Back then people just didn't move unless they info
that the work was good or somehting. send me your real address as i
am printing out what i have in my family tree maker file for some
other cousins that I have found. I would love to have your tree lines
so I can add that to the file.
I found one of Mary Leer Humphreys ggg grandsons and they may live
near you. Myrna Clark lives in Millbrae, California."

Lehr, David
b. in Gemany
d. in Liberty, MD
Henry Leer was a son by his first wife. The rest of the children were by his second wife.
David Lehr (Sr,) brought his young son to America, where they settled in Maryland and lived with a family named Centins (surname may be spelled differently). After Mr. Centins died, David married his widow.

NOTE: According to Judith, via Corday Leer Buckley and Pat Gibbs, the family was from Germany not Holland
as Melissa asserts.
NOTE: Another problematic contradiction is that Melissa has David and young Henry leaving MD, remarrying one
Anna Maria and settling in Bourbon Co. in 1785, whereas Judith has him staying until his death in Liberty, Frederick Co., MD.
Will have to explore this further.
