I'm researching my paternal line: ANTHONY, BABCOCK, BARNES, BAUM, BEGERLY, BELLENFANT, BERRY, BOLEN/BOLIN, BONE, BUCKLEY, BURNLEY, BURRUS, BUSEY, CONRAD, COX, DAVIES/DAVIS, DAWSON, DUNNINGTON, DUMMIT/DOMMET, GRAHAM, GREG, GRUBBS, GUNNELL, FRANKLIN, HAVENS, HAWKINS, HEARNE/O'HERN, HOBBS, HOLMES, HOPKINS, JACKSON, JOHNSTON, KENNEY, LEER/LEHR, LOYD, MARBUT, MAYNARD, MEADOWS/MEADOR, MORGAN, NAASAN, OPDYCK, PITT, PERRY, PHILPOTT, QUARLES, RAINS, RUCKER, SANFORD, SAUNDERS/SANDERS, SEARCY, SHOUSE/SCHAUSS, SMITH, STILLWELL, TANDY, TATE, TEVIS, THOMPSON, TRIBBLE, TURNER, WALKER, WATTS, WILLIAMS, WHITE, WRIGHT, WEIMER, WEST, WINMORE and YOXSON lines.
...All from VA, MD, NC to Kentucky, back to Ireland (BUCKLEY, DUMMIT and KENNEY), Germany (BAUM, CONRAD, LEHR/LEER, NAASAN, SCHAUSS/SHOUSE and WEIMER), England (BURRUS, BURNLEY, GUNNELL, HOBBS, HOPKINS, MAYNARD, MEADOWS, MEADOR, PITT, SMITH, TANDY, TEVIS, THOMPSON, TRIBBLE, TURNER, SAUNDERS/SANDERS, WALKER, WHITE, WINMORE, YOXSON), France (BELLENFANT and TEVIS) and I'm working on the others!

I'm also researching my maternal line: CARTER, DAVENPORT, EAGER, ELLIOT, ELLIS, FIELDS, HENSLEY, HOLMAN, HOWARD, HUGI, HURLEY, KUNTZ, LYTTLE, JOHNSON, LEDFORD, LYTTLE, MCWHORTER, NEWCOMB, NOE, O'CARROLL, OSBORNE, PIGG, RUSSELL, SCHOTT, STRAUB, SULLIVAN, VAUGHN and YOUNG lines.

All from VA, MD, NC to Kentucky, back to Germany (SCHOTT), Switzerland (HUGI, KUNTZ and STRAUB), England (CARTER, HENSLEY, HOWARD, LEDFORD, LYTTLE, OSBORNE, PIGG) and the others are to be determined!

Most of my lines either go back to early (1600s) Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and pioneer KY and stop there - or with the ones I've had success with, go back to Europe. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I'd be delighted to assist you in any way I can as well! I will be periodically updating all research posted on this site. Desperately seeking information on the origins of the following lines: BOLIN, BUCKLEY, COX, HOBBS, HOWARD, JOHNSON, MCWHORTER, OSBORNE, WEIMER.

  • Philip Marbut (108 KB)
The antecedant of the Marbut Family was Philip Marbut, who moved from South Carolina to Barry County, in the southwestern part of Missouri, next to the Arkansas line, in 1841. He died at the age of 93 years, leaving six sons and six daughters. One of whom was my fourth great-grandfather, Andrew Jackson Marbut (through my great-grandfather, Eldon S. Dummit).

  • Buckley Research (6 KB)
This contains my ongoing research on the origin of our Buckley ancestor, Thomas Buckley (my third great-grandfather). We know he was of Catholic faith from County Cork and know his history in the U.S., but know nothing of his beginnings or family in County Cork. This research is a starting point. My grandfather (Ben Buckley) recently informed me that his father had always said the family was originally from Wales and had settled in Ireland before coming to America.
