OHN BAPTIST BUCKMAN:
Jean Baptist Buckman owned plantations at "Freestone Port", "Mattingly Hope," plus "Additions and Hayden's Discovery" totaling 218 acres (in Maryland).

Lived his entire life on the south side of St. Clement's Bay in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

On the 1790 St. Marys Co., Maryland census p 107: 4 males 16 and upwards [John and sons Clement, James and Joseph]; and 1 female.

  Notes for IGNATIUS BUCKMAN:
Fought in the American Revolutionary War. Moved West from Maryland to Kentucky with his family. He owned 250 acres by Rolling Fork, Kentucky. Was killed by Indians in 1794 near his home, Buckman's Station at the mouth of Cloyd's Creek, Marion, Washington County, Kentucky. Contemporary newspaper said it was the last "Indian murder" in Kentucky except in battle. (Source: Buckman Family Book by Mary Donnelly).
