| BUCKNER—In years past, I would have confidently traced my Buckner line back to that individual commonly agreed to be the immigrant ancestor of the majority of Buckners in the United States, John BUCKNER “the salter” and his wife Deborah FERRERS. Current research repudiates that popularly-held ancestral theory. I now believe my immigrant Buckner ancestor to be one Richard BUCKNER, Jr. (Sept. 21, 1661 England-Bef. May 7, 1734 VA, America). GREGER—My favorite Greger researcher, cousin Larry G. Greger, takes this line back to John Jacob GREEGOR (1773 PA-1803). Beyond John Jacob we've hit that infamous “brick wall.” VALLIS—The line of my England-born grandfather, Edward Charles VALLIS I, has been the most difficult for me to trace backwards. To-date, I have reached William VALLIS, Gent. (Circa 1790-), of England. EILERTSEN Fjelse— My Norsk grandmother, Sally Marie (Rosalie) EILERTSEN Fjelse connects me to more kings, queens and saints than I can keep track of. {Yes, Where is my castle, I want to know!?} Thanks to Signe Elisabeth Zijdemans in Norway and Vivian Moulder here in the U.S.A., not to mention some important early steering assistance from the Norway-knowledgeable John Føllesdal with my grandmother’s very forename (she went and changed it during the period she immigrated to the United States!), this line, which I had anticipated being my most difficult research, has perhaps been my easiest. Certainly, it’s been the most fascinating and fun for me. _____________________ Check back every now and again. Data presented here does change as I learn more and make corrections. Are you a cousin?
