"... Upon the organization of the town Asa Rice, Jonathan Buel and himself were commissioners of highways, and run the first road through the forest from Oswego Falls to the place now called Hannibalville, and thence to Oswego. At this place laid out the cross-road south, and the surveyor named it "Rice's Corners". ..."

Elisha Cady b. 8 Jan 1750 in Coventry, CT, and married 20 December 1772 to
Ruth Waterman who was born in 1757, the daughter Col. Asa and Ruth (Beebe)
Waterman. he died 24 August 1821 at age 71 years, and she died 15 Sept 1840
at age 83 years. Both buried at Half Moon, Saratoga Co., NY.

Their children are:

Palmer Cady born 14 November 1773 and married 22 Jan 1797 to Sophia
Fredericks who was brn 10 Sept 1781. He died 1 March 1825.

Peter Cady born 27 Sept 1775 and married 1798 to Anna Waterman. He died 6
July 1841.

Elisha Cady born 19 Jan 1777 and married 25 Feb 1813 to Sally Vander Vere.

Capt. Asa Waterman Cady Born 4 April 1779 and married (1) 23 Jan 1802 to
Anna Stanton, daughter of Nathan and Anna Stanton, who was born 7 December
1784 in Stonington, CT., and died 16 March 1826. He died 21 July 1854 and
is buried in Chittenango, NY. Asa married (2) Mrs. Aclanta B. Hubbell 17
Jan 1827, and she died 12 June 1873 in Syracuse, NY. He was captain and
Chief of Staff in the Engineers in War of 1812.
