Buechler- Nies Genealogy

I am researching the surnames Buechler, Nies, Kuenz,
and Brand(t).

Albert Buechler was born in Zweibruecken, Rhenish Bavaria, February 11, 1852. His parents, Nicholas and Elisabeth (Muehn) Buechler, brought him and his older brother Daniel to the United States in 1854 arriving in New Orleans on the ship Carack. They travelled up the Mississippi to Burlington, Iowa, where they lived until about 1860.
The family eventually settled in Belleville, Illinois. Nicholas and Elisabeth had three additional children, William, Adam, and Mary. Albert married Elizabeth Kuenz at St. Peter's Church, Belleville, Illinois, in 1874. He died September 6, 1929.

Joseph Adrian Nies was born on March 5, 1855, in Olpe, Rehringhausen, Germany. He was married in St. Louis, Missouri, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, on September 7, 1882, to Barbara Brand. He died April 20, 1906.
