6. James Dison WOODBURN
was born on Feb 15 1847 in Perry, Perry, Pennsylvania. He died on Jan 21 1917

was a teenager when he enlisted in the Army during the Civil War. He was too
young to enlist in Benton County where he was known, so he went to a neighboring
county to enlist. He was in Co. D: 151st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He took
part in Sherman's march through Georgia to the sea. He brought home his rifle
and sword which has been handed down to James Woodburn his great grandson.
He wrote a letter to his cousin Mag (believed to be Maggie Simonton, daughter
of Kezeah Woodburn) from Camp Smith Nashville on Sept 14, 1864. He was then
age 17.
