Anthony Aviolet (b. 11/01/1736-37, d. Aft. 04/1802)
Anthony Aviolet was born 11/01/1736-37300, 301, 302, and died Aft. 04/1802303. He married Elizabeth on Abt. 1765304, 305.
Notes for Anthony Aviolet: The Aviolets are descended from a French Huguenot family which emigrated to England when the Huguenot protestants were persecuted in France. They may not, however, have migrated directly from France to England. Family tradition has it that the name was originally D'Aviolet, the particle having been dropped later, but this is doubtful. It is said that the original emigrants were weavers by trade. It is not known when Anthony Aviolet's ancestors arrived in England or where they first settled. Possible parents: Anthony Violet and Sarah Hider, married October 1732, St James Westminster. This is based on the fact that I have found the Aviolet name entered as Violet in early registers. Possible siblings: Dorothy Violet born abt 1732 of this union, St Andrew Holborn (IGI); also Elizabeth b. June 1733 to Anthony Violet and Elizabeth Baker (IGI).
