Barry "Bump" Bumpus Site

I'm researching the name Bumpus which also includes the surnames Bompasse, Bumpas, Bumpass, Bump, Bumpers and Bumphus. I am familiar with the story of Edouard Bompasse landing in Plymouth aboard the Fortune and I am quite sure I am his 13th generation grandson. I am interested in expanding my family tree which currently includes several hundred names. The main trunk is from Edouard Bompasse: John Bumpas, John Bumpas Jr., Jonathan Bumpas, Noah Bumpas, Asa Bumpas, Andrew Bumpus, Mark Jenny Bumpus, Benjamin Franklin Bumpus, Charles Franklin Bumpus, Curtis Franklin Bumpus, Curtis Franklin Bumpus Jr., me and my son Jesse Brian Bumpus born Jan. 28, 1975.
I am also aware of many members of the African-American community that share many of the Bumpus surnames. Anyone having information regarding the development of the Bumpus surname within the black community or having any Bumpus stories or trivia are encouraged to get in touch.
