The Ancestors of Adrian Burke of New York, NY

I have been very interested in the history of my family for a long time. Thanks to one of my cousins my maternal lineage is well documented but very little information exists on my paternal side; BURKE-KEATING of Trenton, NJ and BATTAGLIA-FASULA of Monte Maggiore, Sicily.

My paternal great grandfather, Raymond Burke and his brother Donald Burke were from Trenton, NJ. Their family came from County Mayo, Ireland. The Battaglia family arrived at Ellis Island around 1910 and came from Monte Maggiore, Province of Palermo, Sicily. Both families eventually settled in Buffalo, NY where many live today.

Although I spent a good part of my childhood in Europe and in particular, Italy, I have little information about the origins of the family.

It is my desire to document the arrival of both families to the United States and then proceed back to Sicily and Ireland.
