I'm looking for information on numerous branches of my Family Tree. Surnames include BURCH, FUCHS, DIEHL, EUSTES, WAIGHT, FARR, SOUTHERN, JEWELL, JOHANNESSEN, and HALVORSEN.I've only been able to trace the BURCH family back to my Grandfather, Enoch Arden BURCH (1867-1951), who appears to have been born in Carlyle,IL, however, lived most of his life in St. Louis and Hannibal, MO.
Enoch married Anna Marie "Annie" FUCHS in 1884, and they had 11 children (7 lived to adulthood). Annie (1872-1941) was born in Belleville, IL to Louis FUCHS and Caroline DIEHL FUCHS. I have no other early information on these families.
I've traced the EUSTES family back to Charles EUSTES (b Abt 1877) in Cleveland, Ohio. Charles married (Abt 1907) Florence HOOPER (b 1882) in Ohio. Florence was the daughter of William HOOPER and Julia HAMLIN HOOPER.
Charles and Florence had at least three children (Alfred, Wilma, and William EUSTES -- all born in Cleveland, Ohio. Alfred William EUSTES (1908-1978) married Dorothy WAIGHT EUSTES (date unknown). Dorothy Margaret WAIGHT (1910-1992) was the daughter of William Homer WAIGHT (1885-1961) and Ada FARR (1884-1969) -- date and place of marriage unknown. William WAIGHT was apparently born in England to John WAIGHT and Sarah HOMER, emigrated from England to Ontario, Canada and later to Cleveland, Ohio. Ada FARR was born in Cleveland, a daughter of George FARR (b 1860) and Mary WILSON (b Abt 1863), who had both emigrated from England.
I've traced the JEWELL family back to Whitney JEWELL, and down through Harvey, Myron (b Abt 1838), Vetell? (b Abt 1856), and Helen (1907-1982). The JEWELL family lived for many generations in the Oneonta, New York area, however, Helen apparently was born in Sioux City, Iowa (I don't know how/why).
Helen Vita JEWELL was married (1927) to Milton Earle SOUTHERN. I've traced the SOUTHERN family back from Milton (1909-1980), through Earle/Earl (b Abt 1886), William E. (b Abt 1840), Edward (b 1792 in England), and Richard SOUTHERN. The SOUTHERN family also lived in the Oneonta, New York area for several generations. Earle SOUTHERN married Clara WILCOX (1883-1976), William E. SOUTHERN married Jane FORBUSH (b Abt 1856), and Edward SOUTHERN married Mary HERRING.
My Family Tree currently includes over 1400 people, however, detailed information is limited. Any further information on any of these families will be greatly appreciated. I'm sharing my information with other family members, and would be happy to also share my information with my extended family. Looking forward to hearing from you.
