Notes for Benjamin Spaulding: According to the Revolutionary Rolls of Massachusetts: Benjamin Spaulding had the rank of Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War. He answered the call for the Alarm on Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. Served 18 days and then marched home. He served the rest of the war with the Minute Men of Capt James Hastings, Colonel William Prescott's Regiment.
According to Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolution, XIV: Benjamin Spaulding of Townsend was a Sgt. in Capt. James Hosley's Company of Minutemen, Col. William Prescotts Regiment, which marched on the Alarm of 19 April 1775 to Cambridge. He served 18 days.
He was referred to in later life as Lt. Benjamin Spaulding.
