Participated in thedefense of Boston. After the Contental Army departed for New York in 1776, Thomas served in the Jersies from 12 December 1776 to 26 Mar 1777 with Capt David Nurse of Bolton, MA and his company of 64 men. Thomas then joined the Continental Army, Eighth Regt of Col. Michael Jackson, Capt Benjamin Brown's company 1 Apr 1777 -23 Mar 1780.
