John Shattuck was born between 11 Feb 1645 and 11 Feb 1646 at of Watertown, MA. He was born on 11 Feb 1646/47 at Watertown, MA. He died on 14 Sep 1675 at Watertown, MA, at age 28; drowned passing Charlestown ferry. His estate was probated on 5 Oct 1675 at Watertown, MA, inventory taken. He Savage, GenDictNE; says was in Capt. Beers' company at (the) Squakeag fight, and drowned ten days later (14 Sept) while crossing on the Charlestown Ferry. He BIR-MARR-DEA: 'Whitney Genealogy' by Pierce: 'drowned'; GenServ submitter: Wiley A. Jarell (wjarrell@@phoenix.net); GenServ submitter: Bill Duprey (BillD10546@@aol.com) Bill's sources: Watertown records, First Book and Supplement of Births, Deaths and Marriages. 'Died at age 28, drowned on the Charlestown ferry while crossing between Charlestown and Boston. He fought in the battle at (now) Northfield in King Phillip's War, and was one of the only 16 survivors. Ten days later he was drowned.'
