Notes for L
ITTLETON RIGGINS:
Littleton's tombstone gives his age as "Aged about 69Y"

In "A History of Early Bibb County, Alabama 1820-1870" by Ulysses Huey Abrams:

p. 75 Litttleton Riggins owned land on the east bank of Mulberry Creek in Bibb County and that land was used to build a Methodist Episcopal church. That church and another closed ca 1850 and a new church was organized - Isabella Methodist Episcopal Church.

p. 139 Littleton Riggins and Agrippa Atkinson settled on Mulberry Creek some time before 1820.

p. 18 Among the younger settlers of Bibb county were James Atchison, William Riggins, and Enoch Hayes. All of these settlers (and the olders ones) were mainly from Georgia in Hanesch, Greene, Elbert, Twiggs, and Gwinnet counties, and from the Edgefield district of South Carolina.

"Bibb County Alabama, The First Hundred Years" by Rhoda Coleman Ellison:

p. 85 Peter, a slave belonging to Littleton Riggins was accused of murdering a white man, Martin Walker and tried in "The State v. Peter (a slave)" and was declared not guilty.

In the 1830 Census of Bibb County, Littleton lives in a row with William Riggins, Arter (Arthur) Atkinson, Agrippa Atkinson, Alfred Atkinson, John Baggot (Bagget), and Alfred Childress. They live near Penelope Collins, who may be linked to the Burnetts. Joseph Maddox should also be on this page, but it is illegible.

In the 1840 Census of Bibb County, Littleton lives two houses down from Alfred Childers and William Riggins. The people between them are illegible, but may be the son in laws of these men.
