History of Butler Countypg1264 and 1195John Myers Sr., along with
Beighley'sBoston's, Moon's, and Alberts etc. migrated to Butler County
about 1805 from Virginia.
John Myers Sr, founder of our branch of the Myers family in Pennsylvania,
was a native of Germany, he came to America prior to the Revolutionary War,
and served in the struggle for liberty. After the close of the War, he
settled in Virginia and resided there until he moved to Pennsylvania and
located in Butler County about the year 1805.He was accompanied from
Virginia by John Moon, John Boston, William Beighley and Adam Albert. He
bought and settled on what is known as the "Bauder Farm"in Muddy Creek
Township, but through an imperfection in the title or some other causes he
lost the property. He then purchased four hundred acres situated where
David Myers, his heirs and William and Charles now reside.(1916)Upon
which property he lived until his death.
He was married in Virginia to Sarah Moon, a daughter of John Moon
(Not sure about this John being Sarah's father, My Note), and their

Annie, who later married John (Or William?) Beighley, all of whom are

Notes for SARAH MOON:
Shimmel/Myers/Barkley Collection indicates the father of Sarah Moon was
John Moon buried at the Stone Church and died May 27, 1847138 Pa. Militia
War of 1812......This is unlikely because Sarah was born in 1760 and her
brother George in 1759, making their father born about 1739.If he died in
1847, he would have been 108 years old. This John Moon may have been a
brother or maybe a nephew.
The name Moon was spelled MOHN.
