Harry was a First Class Private in WWI, in Co. F., 355th Infantry of the 89th Division and was wounded in the St. Mihiel Drive - a compound fracture of the skull requiring 28 stitches and for which he dres a permanent disability pension of varying amounts.He was only in the army 10 months altogether, enlisted in April, was in France in June, in the trenches in September, wounded in October, back in the USA for Thanksgiving and discharged in February 1920.He was in a hospital in French Lick, Ind. and also at Resthaven at Waukesha, Wisconsin prior to his discharge.On April 14, 1920, he married Ruth Wilkening of Waukesha, Wisconsin.They had one son Clynard Ritchie Beighlie who was born in Brookings, S. Dakota on October 15, 1921.They were divorced in 1936.
