Greetings! I am researching the genealogy of the Burgess-LeMire-Paquin line. Lemire-Paquin origins are in Quebec: Chateau Richer, Deschambault, Trois Rivieres and the surrounding area. My branch of the family comes from Somerset, Wisconsin. Somerset was settled in the mid 1800's by about 125 French-Canadian families all of whom immigrated from Quebec. All the familiar names like Belanger, Belisle, Cloutier, Fortin, Langlois, Dion, DuFrense and scores of others are represented. Each family is large and has connections to virtually every other family in the core Somerset and Canadian group.
I've managed to collect hundreds of names and dates and am looking for cousins who might be out there who can help me fill in some of the blanks. Much of it comes from handwritten materials recorded by the community elders of Somerset, WI during the 1950's. Many had personal recollections as well as documents from their parents and grandparents. (The handwritten materials have been sitting for 40 years in the Somerset town library, in a cardboard box, under the cabinets.) It's a real wealth of information.

The Burgess/Cummins originates from Dublin, Ireland. Can only go two generations. Need hep with this one!

So, any of you cousins out there: send me an e-mail and lets compare notes! I'll be happy to share the stuff that I have collected.

Picture was taken in Somerset, WI abt. 1870. Both are buried in the church yard of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Somerset. His son, Edward's brick house across the street from the church still stands today and is occupied by his great grandaughter.
