"Archibald Stewart, Sr. who was born November 1, 1757, in Ireland came to America. The family was well off in this world's goods and he came to this country looking around with the intention of returning home before settling, should he decide to eventually make his home here. However, while in this country he was robbed of his money with the results that he was unable to return to Ireland and his family there never heard from him again. He married on March 17, 1794, Rebeca Harrison and moved from the state of Maryland to Mt. Pleasant Community near Rosine in Ohio County, Kentucky. He died August 26, 1827 and his wife in 1834. Their children were Mary, died age 20, William J.Cooper , Archibald, James F., Cornelius, Richard, Reo Basil H. a methodist minister who died in 1888, unmarried, Henry and John. William J.
