http://foclark.tripod.com/vaimmigrants.html

" Guille, Anna. Wife of Isaac Guille, q.v. Bound for 4 years. Guille, Isaac, his wife Anna and children Magdalene, John, Peter, Stephen and Joseph. All bound to Augustine Boullay in Virginia. Sept. 16, 1685."

"Isaac Guille born before c1656 was alive 1685, and his wife Anna Guille were Huguenots, probably from the Guilles on the Island of Guernsey."

A Huguenot colony was massacred at St. John, FL, in 1565.

The massacre of St. Bartholomew's Day occurred in France on Aug. 24, 1572, instigated by Catharine de Medici, the mother of king Charles IX of France.

The edict of Nantes was promulgated by king Henry IV on April 13, 1598.

It was revoked by Louis XIV on October 18, 1685, at which point many French Huguenots fled the country. But it is pretty clear that some Huguenots left before 1685.
