The Buttorff/Bottorff and Sills Families Home Page

I am currently researching Batdorffs/Battorffs from Berks County, PA (1700-1800s) and Battorffs/Buttorffs from Cumberland County, PA (1700-1800s), specifically to locate the parents of Henry Wilson Buttorff who was born in Carlisle, Cumberland County, PA, August 18, 1837. His grandfather was George Buttorff. I believe his father died about 1846, but that is not confirmed. H.W. Buttorff moved to Nashville, TN in 1858 and married Mary Elizabeth Nokes July 19, 1865, so I am also researching Buttorffs from Nashville, Davidson Co., TN.Another branch of the the Batdorffs from Berks County, PA, spelled "Bottorffs" migrated to Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. in 1792. The family later moved across the Ohio River into Jeffersonville and Charlestown, Clark Co., IN (1800-1900s). Both Buttorffs and Bottorffs are found in the Louisville and southern Indiana region. Also researching the Sills family of Stewart Co., TN and Trigg and Lyon Counties in KY. Specifically looking for the parents of both Lemuel Sills and his wife, Elizabeth Wallace, who were married July 30, 1841 in KY. Lemuel Sills's mother may have been named Anna. Any and all help welcomed! Willing to share research to date.
