PATERNAL I am interested in researching my paternal ancesters, who are descendant from Jean Helie le Breton born near St. Malo around 1620. My branch of the family adopted the name Butler for reasons not yet discovered around 1850 in the Waterville, Maine area. MATERNAL John Ashe, an only child, came to America around 1890 at the age of twenty, from Gurteens (near Annascaul), County Kerry, Ireland, and settled in Lowell, Massachusetts with his mother, Mary(Fitzgerald)his father, John, died in Ireland before they emmigrated. In America, he married Katie Shea, also from Annascaul Town, near Dingle, County Kerry.
