| Researching my family from Kilfenora Ireland - Patrick McCarthy left Ireland,1 Jan 1854 for Australia arriving in Melbourne on 6 May 1854. Patrick's mother (nee Anne Doolan) died 29 March 1854. I know George her husband died (1861)in Australia but whether Geo came on above date and she died at sea or he came later. Any knowledge re Doolans now or then in Kilfenora would be appreciated or descendants of Geo McCarthy maybe in Ireland. My other research is Alexander,William and Elizabeth Gibson Co.PennsylvaniaUSA 1700s Little Britain Lancaster Co. Eliz. m. Mr.Joseph?(Mc)Kibben. At some time they lived in Lurgan Twp. or any info.on Alexander (did he marry in USA?prior to his other marriage?)and/or William. The Gibsons were from Ireland/Scotland/England. I think Alex may have gone back to Lislooney Co./Armagh then Co.Cavan Ire. He m. Mary Belfore there in 1768 and died 1801 in Ireland. Also what happened to William? Did he marry? |
