Alexander Clegg (1743-1825) served as private in Col. John Neville's Virginia regirnent. He was born in Ireland; died in Botetourt County, Va.
David Deaderick (1754-1823) served under Capt. Charles Mynn Thruston, in the Jersey campaign. He was subsequently adjutant and paymaster. He was born in Winchester, Va.; died in Jonesboro, Tenn.
Isaac Lane (1760-1851) was placed on the pension roll of McMinn County, Tenn., 1831, for service as private, Virginia Line. He served as lieutenant at the battle of Kings Mountain. He was born in North Carolina; died in McMinn County, Tenn.
Robert Hamilton (1720-86) served as private in Capt. William Oldham's company, Col. William Linn's battalion, Virginia Line. He was born in Scotland; died in Loudoun County, Va.

Michael Massengale (Massengill) (1756-1834) enlisted, 1776, and served until 1780, under various commands and was engaged in the battle of Musgrove Mills. He was born in North Hampton County, N. C.; died in Grainger County, Tenn.
Robert Whiteside (1743-1810) was a soldier in the battle of Kings Mountain. He was born in Albemarle County, Va.; died in Pulaski County, Ky.
William Whiteside (1718-71) was a patriot and member of the Committee of Safety of North Carolina. He was born in Ireland; died in Tryon County, N. C.
Ninian Chamberlain (1718-98) served as sergeant in the Continental Line. He was born in Ireland; lived in North Carolina at the time of the Revolution; died in Jefferson County, Tenn.

Jeremiah Chamberlain (1740-1830) served as private at Kings Mountain and received a grant of land in North Carolina for his service. He was born in Ireland; died in Grainger County, Tenn.

[p.275] Daniel Carmichael (1743-78) served as ensign of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania militia. He was born in Lancaster County; died in Cumberland County, Pa.
James Pettigrew (1713-84) served as private in South Carolina militia. He was born in Ireland; died in Pendleton District, S. C.
George Russell (1720-97) commanded a company of militia under Col. John Sevier at Kings Mountain. He was born in Virginia; lived in North Carolina at the time of the Revolution; died in Grainger County, Tenn.
Tidence Lane (1724-1806) was a minister of the gospel and organized many churches and was a great influence during the Revolution. He was born in Maryland; died in Hamblen County, Tenn.
Daniel Johnson (1733-83) served as private in North Carolina troops. He was born in Virginia; died in Newberry, S. C.
