| Allen Dunn,b.1820 Greenville,TN (s/o Wm Dunn 1793TN s/o Daniel Dunn 1761VA)md Rachel Emeline McCamish b.1821TN (d/o Robert McCamish 1787 TN s/o Wm.McCamish ca.1750 Ireland). They had 9 children born to them. Their first child, Mary Rebecca,md. and had a son (he took Mother's family name). This son & his desc. are the ones who went to Florida. The second child, William,md. and moved his family to Oklahoma. The other 6 children stayed in NW Georgia and settled in Murray, Catoosa & Whitfield counties initially but over time their descendants moved to other states. I've just recently accounted for every descendant of Mary Rebecca Dunn's descendants (my line)and am working on accounting for all her brothers & sisters families. Also included are the ancestors of Allen & Rachel to make it easier for anyone to see if they are related to these families. I've entered Allen & Rachel's brothers & sisters in hopes someone will recognize them and fill in the gaps I have because their descendants are still eluding me after many years. I have census data that gives me 1-3 generations on a few and zip on the others. There is double interest on the Dunn-McCamish connection because Allen and his brother Daniel (1822) married the McCamish sisters, (Allen to Rachel & Daniel to Elizabeth). The other McCamish sister,Sarah, md. Jacob Graves and there was a brother named Charles McCamish. The claim of Indian blood in these families is only supported by a claim made by William Dunn, son of Allen & Rachel,to government agents in Durant,OK on 4 Sep 1904 that his Grandmothers McCamish & Dunn lived with the Indians in TN and that he was recognized in the community as having mixed blood. Full statement (and his wife's too)can be found in "Cherokee by Blood" Vol.3, Applicants # 6712 &6713.
