Clarence E. Byard Sr. Family Home Page

I have researched my Ancestors on my fathers side back to my GG Grandfather born on or about 1810. I believe he was born in Sydney of Guysborough, Nova Scotia, Canada, his wife's name is Mary. I believe his father came to Canada as free slaves or Black Loyalists in the 1780's. That is as far as my Cousin Donna Byard Sealey and I have researched so far.
My Mother's side is quite different since I was not around her as much as my other sisters and brothers. I spent most of my childhood with an Aunt (My father's older sister) and spent summers with my Mother. I went into the Military when I was 17 years old and retired after serving 21 years, mostly Overseas. My mother passed away in 1963.

I retired from Construction after 22 years. I spent quite a bit of time with my Grand children and when they asked me about my Grand Parents. I had to tell them that I never knew or seen them, and that is when I started my research and it took me to Canada in 1993.

We had a family reunion in 1996 in Truro, Nova Scotia and that is when everything came together.

I,m now try to gather information on my Mother's side. My sisters and brothers do not know anymore than I do. But I have not given up.

My family and I will beattending a Second Family Reunion on 20 July 2001, in Truro Nova Scotia, Canada.
