I am researching the family history of the Booth family of Gee Cross, Hyde, Cheshire, England from the marriage of John Booth born 1832 in Chisworth, Derbyshire, described as a Corn Miller, and Ann Stanley,Spinster, born in Denton, Lancashire 1843. They were married 5th March 1868 at Stockport Parish Church. Ann died in 1873. Their son, Frank Stanley subsequently married Annie Barton, daughter of David and Mary Barton of Gee Cross Hyde.Frank Stanley and Annie had four children: Ann Stanley Booth who married Thomas Ratcliffe, Alice Booth who married Frank Bennett,Mary Booth who married Rupert Howard in 1920 and Frank Booth who married Doris Morley in 1939.They had three children, John, Judith and Frank Andrew. Judith married John Byle younger son of Ernest and Marion Byle. Research is ongoing into all the family histories including Hannah Barton,born about 1878, daughter of David and Mary Barton of Mount Pleasant, Gee Cross Hyde. She subsequently married a young man called Sam Stafford and had a daughter called Lillian before the family emigrated to USA Lillian married Gustave Swanson,and the family lived at Sprague Town, New London, Connecticut in 1930. Their son, Roy Kenneth born in 1923 enlisted in the US Army 1943. |
