Shorly after Alabama was admitted to the union (1819) the Blanton's come from the Carolina's settling along Wolf and Cane Creeks in the southern part of Walker Co. Tract Records show, Isaac Blanton Sr and five of his sons established a community of their own. Two more sons, Benjamin and David moved on a few miles to establish their homes on Cane Creek. These were Godly people. "West's history of Methodism in Alabama", names David Blanton a class leader and mentions "Blanton's" as a preaching place. A log Church was built near Issac Sr's place. "Antioch", was built a mile or two away on the mountain between Coal Valley and Corona.

And just a note for those kinfolk that are musicly gifted- Grandma Allie used to tell me her,"mama could play the harp like an angel, and daddy played the fiddle, my dad had a C&W band and could play the fiddle or any instrument with strings.
