Welcome to my home page. If you are reading this, then you must be searching for your ancestors too. Happy reading and enjoy! I'm currently researching the following family lines: WYATT, DELOZIER, HUME and VERNON surnames from my maternal side, and VALDEZ, APODACA, ARAGON, and MASCARAN surnames from my paternal side along with many more. You can view the Surnames included in our family tree via the 'Book' link below. My primary search at this time is finding more information on: WYATT *** Samuel Wyatt, b. abt 1822, m. Mary DeLozier (dau of Edward Henry DeLozier & Frances Sarah Dyer) Who were Samuel's parents? Did he have any siblings? What happened to Samuel & Mary? Samuel was born in VA according to census records for Joseph Larkin Wyatt, one of his son's (see Genealogy Report link for details), and his mother's place of birth is listed as 'Unknown, USA'. However, Mary DeLozier (Samuel's wife) was born in VA, but I believe that she may have died while the children were very young and they did not remember her. Thomas R. Wyatt (Sam's oldest son) is listed in the 1860 MO census as living with his Aunt Adaline [DeLozier] Lawler and Uncle Robert Daniel Lawler. Adaline was Mary's younger sister. There is no listing for Samuel or Joseph on the 1860 MO census. According to Joseph's obituary, he grew to adulthood in Missouri, migrating to Iowa in 1875, having spent the previous two years in Oklahoma (his sister Margaret lived in Oklahoma with her husband Robert Allen Briggs-originally from MO). Where was Joseph in Missouri from 1850 to 1870???? UPDATE 03/01/2002: I finally found Joseph on the 1870 MO Census (age listed as 18 yrs) living with his Uncle JOSEPH JACKSON DELOZIER (b. December 20, 1834, St. Clair Co, MO; d. February 12, 1910, Chelsea, OK) family. Joseph Jackson DeLozier was the youngest brother of Mary & Adaline DeLozier. However, Joseph Wyatt was not listed with this family on the 1860 MO census. So, at this point, I'm assuming (guessing really) that Joseph DeLozier and his family migrated to Oklahoma sometime between 1871 to 1873 and my great grandfather went with them, moving on to Iowa in 1875. On my paternal side, I know practically nothing about my grandparent's parents. I would be very interested in finding any information about his father (? Valdez) and his mother (? Mascaran) as well as my grandmother's family (? APODACA and ? ARAGON). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Just email me and I'll reply as soon as possible.
