The Caccioppoli Home Page

My name is Robert Caccioppoli. I, along with help from others - especially Dr. Giuseppe Caccioppoli - have traced my family back to the mid 1700's in Massaquano, Italy, a small hamlet in the mountains above the present town of Vico Equense, on the southern shores of the Bay of Naples. My family tree currently contains 603 members, in addition I have compiled information on 9 other families with the surname "Caccioppoli", all of them from the same area of Italy (Vico Equense) except one, which comes from the area around Bari. Other names that I am researching are Attanasio, Grieco, Coppola, Di Martino, Ragusa. I would also like to know more about these other names which are quite common in my ancestral village, and have married with the name Caccioppoli many times since the mid 1500's - Cuomo, Vanacore, Starace, Cioffi, Russo. I hope to post more complete info here soon. I am particularly interested in the descendants of Giovanni Caccioppoli (baptised July 27, 1825) and Elisebetta Scala. I only have info on two of their children, Noe (baptised 7/28/1851 - my great grandfather) and a younger brother Gregorio (baptised 11/5/1860).
