My family have been in Australia since the 1800s.
They arrived 4/4/1839 on the "Oriente" (ships captain Douglas Wales, medical officer Dr Henry Grant) sailing from Plymouth, left England November 1838.
They lived in Parramatta for several years then moved to Morpeth, then some of them moved back to Sydney where they seemed to go their own way without a lot of contact.
When I was a teenager there was only 2 Caddy in the phone book.
James died June 1866 in Morpeth Newcastle. Elizabeth died 25/5/1897 in Sydney. She was survied by 5 sons 21 grand children 12 great grand children.
On my mum`s side I still have problems getting the correct information but it will happen.
