| Hello. I just started researching my family history a couple years ago. So far I have found many relatives I never knew existed. I even went to a Caffey family reunion in Texas last June. My gr, gr, gr ,gr grandfather was John Caffey b.1754 d.1826 in Montgomery, AL. I have spoken and met with many people who share this common ancestor of mine. I have info to share. And pictures. I am starting to research my great grandma Laura Jones's family line. Her parents were Alexander Jones and Nancy Mae Gibson. They lived in Whittier, North Carolina. A few other surnames in my tree are Jacoby, Husmann, Settje,Graves, Spell, Shellcott, and Hooper. The most common states are Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas , North Carolia, Maryland and california. We have lots of Confederate soldiers and so far no yankees! |
