Find Family

I am Ferdinand J. Cain. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Son of Charlie and Clara (Davis) Cain who moved from Texas to Oklahoma about 1917. My wife Mary A. (Hawkins) Cain is the daughter of Oscar and Dovie (Green) Hawkins - both of AA/Native American descent. I started FH research 12 years ago; included in FTM World Family Tree. Search now expanded to include Cain, Caine, Jenkins, Woodard and branches therefrom. Charlie Cain born 1881 in Graball, TX. Clara (Davis) Cain born 1889 in Brenham, TX. Davis and Cain relatives migrated to Oklahoma in early 1900s. NOTE: Observe this home page for updates which will commence on or before the new year (2004). MEMO: Today is 7-4-2006 and the update has been delayed for no valid reason. With a little bit of luck and inspiration - we will get back to the project some time this month. Thank you for your patience. Although NO ONE HAS SUBMITTED DATA to include herein - we will keep trying.

Family Photos

  • Charlie and Clara Cain - 1904 Wedding Portrait (19 KB)
1904 Wedding portrait of Charlie Cain and Clara Mae Davis is indicative of a socio-econoic status which was abandoned or denied upon their move to Oklahoma in about 1917. Clara was an educated and wise person who avoided discussing much of the past; emphasizing the importance of "know well who YOU are and be true thereto." Charlie was a tall, handsome and quiet Black man who survived during mean times in our nation's history. These are the author's parents and his heroes. Amen!
  • Cain Family Crest (41 KB)
"Noblesse Oblige" is a philosophical concept taught by Clara Mae (Davis) Cain to this site author (her youngest son). "The Obligations Of Nobility" charged her student with a sense of responsibility which proved of tremendous value in his life. The crest was designed and adopted by Ferdinand Joseph Cain in the early 1990s and is used extensively.
