Find Family

* The Walton & Assocated families trees*

Updated December 4, 2010

About 8 years ago my oldest son Brandon wanted to do the Boyscout Geneology merit badge. I contacted my first cousin Laura Riley for a copy of the Walton family tree that she has been searching for several years. After receiving that packet I also contacted my Aunt on my Mothers side to see what she had on the Ploense family. No one ever did a family tree on that side. So that prompted me to start one.
As of today, I have found several new cousins. The family lines that I am searching are: Benjamin, Converse, Lamphere, McCormack, Richardson, Walton, Goodman, East, Lewis, Popejoy, Ploense, Levander, Lloyd and Dyer.
As I do the research I am trying to prove my line. With Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates and any other documents that I can find.

Joseph & Elizabeth Walton came to the United States from England in 1842. His son John Henry Walton is our first Ancestor that was born in the United States. I am currently writing a book about the Walton family. I am also still searching for all of the Decendents of Joseph and Elizabeth Walton. Currently there are 220 known decendents of Joesph and Elizabeth Walton.

Salah Benjamin is the Eariest Benjamin Family member that I can prove, for now. He served in the American Rev. His son Mason was born and died in Bennington Vermont. After Mason's death most of his children moved to Illinois. His son William O Benjamin is our line. I have approved this line with the Daughters of the American Revolution.
I would also like to find the other decendents of Mason Benjamin as well.

On the Goodman line the earilest ancestor that I can prove is James Goodman. James is the Father of Price H Goodman. With the find of James' probate record I have found several sibling and their children. As well as the name of Price's Mother. Her name is Francis Rucker/Rusher. I am working on finding more information on James and Francis.

Converse line- The earilest member is Jason Converse. Currently trying to prove that his parents are James A Converse and Lucinda Smith.

Lamphere- The earlest member is Ethan Lamphere. I have been working on proving the relationship between Ethan and his son Henry Lamphere. Which I am decendend from, This is hard because of the different spellings for Lamphere. Henry and Ethan did not know how to read or write. That is the reason of the different spellings.

Lewis- John is the oldest one I have found. Trying to prove this line. It has not been very easy, since the courthouse in Bedford burned down in the middle 1800's.

Ploense- August is the oldest family member that I found to date. I am currently trying to track down August Ploense's brother Fred. As well as trying to find when they came to the United States. As of Jan 2007 I have started collecting all of the Ploense families in the Bloomington Area in Illinois. My theory is that there was at least 3 brothers, possiably more.

Lloyd- Working on trying to prove the Parents of William Lloyd. I just received copies of the headstone for William and His mother Mariana. His father John I beleive he died in the Almshouse.

Dyer- Working on trying to find Julia Dyer's parents. I am really stuck on this line.

If anyone has any information to add to any of these lines. Please feel free to contact me.
