Notes for Emily Kay Pitney Smallwood: Granny was living at Pitman Manor in Pitman, NJ when she passed away. David Kay Rubright was the Executor of the will. The total value of the Estate was $801.39. Granny had owned some land in Cape May County. I do not know what happened to it. After Grandpop died, Granny moved back to Walnut Avenue in Cranford, NJ. Both Aunt Laura and Aunt Eunice lived on the same block but acroos tha street. There is a stream behind Aunt Laura's old house that Charles and Sylvia had pictures taken. The house next door to Aunt Laura's was where Emily and Effinger lived before moving to Trenton. I have pictures taken there of Sylvia, Richard and Laura's son Walter Engel when he was very young. Smallwoods are buried near South Seaville, NJ. They are in Union Cemetery which is on NJ 559 Southeast of Mays Landing. I found many names on graves and have pictures of them. Smallwood is an English name from the Western Midlands region. It is a habitation name from old english meaning a place ie Chester. From Smoel (narrow) and wudu (wood).
