This is a photo of what is believed to be the remains of the old Archelaus Cone homestead. The site is marked on page 3 of the 1995 edition of the John Walker Family of Washington Co. Georgia. It is about 1.5 miles on the left on Union Church Rd. from GA 15 (Just after the Walker pond). I have read a letter from one of Archelaus Cone's Granddaughter that stated he and his mother are buried on these grounds. He died in 1848 and lived to be in his 80's.
