Article in newspaper about his accidental death: Killed In Fall From Tipple Workman Plunges Forty Feet to ground While unloading coal at the East End Pumping Station, Eastern Avenue and Torrence Road, Wednesday, Elmer Schwietert, 27, laborer, 2456 Eastern Avenue, an employee of the Campbell's Creek Coal Company, was killed when he slipped from a tipple and fell forty feet to the ground. Police took the man to the General Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The body then was removed to the Hamilton County Morgue. Police were told that Sweetert was pushing coal cars over the tipple, used for dumping the coal, after it is hauled from the river barges, into a coal elevator, when the accident occurred.
