| This homepage was created for the purpose of connecting with others, related or just interested, who are also searching for my family of CAMPs and SUMMERS. This is the paternal side of my family tree. The CAMP family are all from Virginia and West Virginia. But I have reached a point where they all seem to disappear and may have come from Ohio or some other state nearby, so all leads are being followed. My CAMP line so far goes back to George Henry Camp, Sr., born about 1800. His son, George Henry, Jr. was born about 1827 (in possibly Clay County or Kanawha County) Virginia. His son by his first wife, Christine or Christina Paxton, is my great grandfather, James Monroe Camp. Other children of their marriage are Martha A. Camp, John Franklin Camp, George Henry Camp (III), and Columbus Camp. George Jr.'s second wife was Adeline or Adaline Virginia Hill, and they had six more children: Esquire or Squire Steven Camp, Lucy M. Camp, William K. Camp, Florilla Camp, Bell Camp, and Rhody Camp My SUMMERS family tree is through my paternal grandmother, Etta Mabel Summers (Camp). Going backwards from her, it is as follows: Etta Mabel Summers -- Andrew Jackson Summers --Jacob Jehu Summers -- John Paul Summers -- Johann Georg Sommer....and on back to Germany. The Keown and Frame family trees attached are from my mother's side of the family and are added here for general interest and others seeking those names as well. So far I have compiled over 7000 names from all branches of my family tree and would be happy to share with anyone interested in finding their own ancestors. I look forward to meeting "cousins" far and near. Thank you for your visit and I hope we can help each other on this glorious quest! |
