Descendants of Texas Patriot - Jose Miguel Aldrete©

Within the last few years, we have been working on extensive research of the Aldrete family line of Texas. My 5X grandfather Commander -Jose Miguel Aldrete was born about 1798 in La Bahia (Goliad), Matagorda, Texas. Son of Don Jose de Jesus Aldrete(Commander of Calvary at the Royal Presidio Espiritu Santo)and Francisca Urrutia. Jose Miguel Aldrete was a prominent Texas pioneer cattleman, largest land owner at the time who married Candelaria De Leon,daughter of the Empresario and founder of Victoria, Texas, Don Martin De Leon.

He was the alcalde (mayor), justice in Refugio County and a collector at El Copano. An influential backer in fighting the Texas Revolution by giving his own supplies. Furthermore, he was a signer of the Goliad Declaration of Texas Independence. He had the following sons: Jose Maria, Rafael,Trinidad, Jose de Jesus Maria Aldrete, and a daughter, Concepcion.

My line beginning with my maternal grandfather(Donaciano Aldrete; Alonzo, Adolfo, Jose Maria, Jose Miguel, Jose de Jesus, Vicente...) The Aldrete name is not that common in this Texas family line.
