Cancienne Boothby Dragon Belden Family of Inez Cancienne

A lot of our research has come from papers and clippings passed down through the Family. Much of it has come from other Family Members. The Internet Family Trees provided by other Boothby Families has vastly increased our knowledge of our Maine Boothby Family. My Great Grandfather Charles Willis Boothby came to New Orleans in 1862 as a member of the 12th Maine Volunteer Infantry. He stayed in New Orleans after the Civil War, married and raised a Family. My Boothby Grandfather was his oldest son and the only son to have Children(Three). My Belden Great Grandfather was born in Illinois. His Family moved to Texas. During the Civil War he enlisted as a Private in the 22th Texas Calvary and later was a member of Captain Joe Lea's Louisiana Scouts(Louisiana Confederate Cavalry Raiders). He married in 1864 and raised a Family in North Louisiana. My Cancienne Ancestor came from Venice about 1786. The Dragons are a French Family from Quebec.
