For several years at our Goins Family Reuion we had a pinata for the smaller chidren, usually starting with the youngest. In 1993 I announced that we would start with the oldest 'child' ... who happened to be Dad (Donald O. Goins). We blindfolded him and handed him the stick, only for him to lift the blindfold from his eyes and walk over to his workbench to sand down the stick! This photo is not of him, but one of his brothers, Wesley E. Goins. I don't recall now who broke the pinata, but it was a surprising and enjoyable time by all...especially the smaller children who got their turn laughing at the adults at their attempts to hit the swaying pinata!
