1. TIMOTHY² ALLEN (SAMUEL¹) was born February 22, 1690/91 in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA, and died May 25, 1753 in Mansfield, Tolland, CT. He married RACHEL BUSHNELL October 11, 1714 in Norwich, New London, CT, daughter of JOSEPH BUSHNELL and MARY LEFFINGWELL.

Timothy and Rachel (Bushnell) Allen are buried in the Old Cemetery, Mansfield Center, CT. Inscriptions on their gravestones is as follows: "Here lies the Body of Mr. Timothy Allen who died May the 10 1755 in ye 65th year of his age. Remember Death. G20."
"Here lies ye body of Mrs Rachel wife to Mr Timothy Allen Died Sep 23, 1774 in ye 82 year of her age." E57.

Timothy was a tavern keeper in the years 1750 and 1752 according to "Chronology of Mansfield, Connecticut 1702-1972." compiled by the History Workshop of the Mansfield Historical Society. 1974.
Timothy's will is filed in the town of Mansfield, Windham, Probate District, CT. Dated 1755.
