User Home Pages: The Carlton Family
I am researching the following names:Carlton, Sweet, Kotowsky, Cider, Bocskoras, Nickle, Bugosh, Toplansky and their Slovak and Polish variants. Benjamin Sweet married Permelia Williams in Rocky River, Ohio.Benjamin was born in New York and a member of the 103rd Ohio Voluntary Infantry in the Civil War. Lucy May Sebron married his son, Charles Henry Sweet, and lived in Rocky River, Ohio. Benjamin was born in Sparta, New York about 1820.Most of my research so far has found the families in Cuyahoga and Medina Counties.Would love to find decendants who could add to the puzzle of what brought Benjamin, a ships carpenter, to Ohio. Andi Cider came from Austria-Hungary in 1904, from the village of Durkov, Slovakia. His wife, Barbara Bocskoras, came from Olsvany, Slovakia. He and some of his brothers lived in Donora, Pennsylvania. Known variants of Cider are Csider, Chider, Chieder and Chiedor. However, very little is known about his wife's family in the U.S. or Slovakia. John Nickle and his wife Mary lived in Yorkville, Ohio and both immigrated from Nisko,Poland.Polish spelling Nykiel. We are interested in hearing from others who may be related or whose research led them to these names. | TheCarlton Family Updated February 6, 2005 |
