He was a carpenter and joiner; he was Corporal in the 3rd company of Rehoboth, in the first regiment of the county of Bristol in 1767. He afterwards acted as Major.

Eliphalet removed to Randolph, VT about 1790; from there he went to Barre, VT, in 1799.

Eliphalet Carpenter, private in Captain Hill's Company in Col. Williams' regiment, enlisted Sept. 29, 1777, served one month at Tiverton. Roll sworn to at Rehoboth, Mass. Enlisted again in Captain Samuel Brown's Company, Col. Carpenter's, No. 775, regiment, R.I. Alarm, August 11, 1780. Served 8 days. Marched from Rehoboth to Tiverton. It was probably this Eliphalet who enlisted in the formation of 1777 to 1781; he was discharged Dec. 17, 1786.

  Notes for Remember 614 Carpenter:
he moved to Randolph, Vt. about 1790 and to Barre, Vt., in 1799. Remember was a man much respected and honored in the community in which he lived. He was one of 28 men raised in Rehoboth, Mass., in 1780, to reinforce the Continental army for six months; they were marched to West Point.

There are two more paragraphs on his military history on page 122 of the Carpenter Memorial.
